Q: How do you rent a safe deposit box and what should I keep in it?

A: Safe deposit boxes are a great, safe way to protect your important items and documents. The safe deposit boxes at Unison are stored in our fireproof vault and can only be opened when two keys are present – yours and Unison's – so your items are kept secure. The annual rental fee depends on the box size and ranges from $16 - $61. Basically, you can store anything in the box you want kept secure, like birth certificates, marriage certificates and copies of important documents like wills, deeds and insurance coverage. You can also keep valuables like coins or jewelry in your safe deposit box.
