Q: I want to apply for a mortgage. What do I need to bring with me?
A: When applying for a mortgage or prequalifying for a mortgage, you will need to bring verification of your employment and your finances. This means you will need to bring pay stubs from last month’s paychecks and W-2 statements from the last three years. You’ll also need to bring recent financial statements and stock statements (if applicable) to show your source for covering the down payment and closing costs. It’s also helpful to bring any information on debts you have, such as loans and credit cards. If you are self-employed, bring your tax returns for the last three years.
